About the Absolute Music Chamber Series

The Absolute Music Chamber Series was founded in 2009 by Richard Sherman, professor of Flute, Michigan State University College of Music at the Absolute Gallery in Lansing's historic Old Town. The mission of Absolute Music is to present the highest caliber classical chamber music in the European soirée tradition where music, art and hospitality are enjoyed in an intimate, informal setting.

The concert venue is Urban Beat Events Center. It has an acoustically superior space that can be transformed into an intimate performance hall seating up to 150 people. Each concert features internationally known musicians who enjoy performing in a cozy environment for inquisitive and appreciative audiences.

Richard Sherman is honored with the William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Award
